Two new nonprofit board resources popped up in my RSS feed today, both begging to be shared with readers of this blog.
The first is a downloadable workbook, "Ten Dimensions that Shape Your Board," from MAP (Management Assistance Program) for Nonprofits. MAP has been a favorite resource for many years now; this new tool helps to illustrate why. Click on the "download this workbook" link at the bottom of the page to access the tool.
The other new resource comes from BoardSource, another favorite nonprofit lifeline. BoardSource offers 11 brief videos describing the 10 essential responsibilities (plus an intro) of a nonprofit board. The concepts may be a bit basic for more experienced followers of this blog, but I offer them as both an example of how technology can be used in board development and as an additional resource for new recruits who may be unfamiliar with the responsibilities they are undertaking.
